What to do if you’re feeling alone when TTC

Many thanks for your responses to my survey Monday!

One really struck me…”I am so alone in this (fertility journey).”

I disagree.

You’re not alone.

You have your partner, family, and friends.  Those are who count.

Not the faceless millions of women just like you trying to get pregnant.  Because it doesn’t matter at the end of the day how successful or unsuccessful those women are.  You have your own set of individual circumstances.  So your journey will be different from anyone else.

It is your job to figure out your path.

Focusing attention on the perception of your isolation serves no purpose.  It doesn’t improve your situation and only makes it worse.

In those moments, you have to consciously pull your thoughts back to who you DO have in your circle.  That’s when you turn to your partner and go in for a long cuddle.

Your pain might be so overwhelming that it’s physical.  Emotional suffering can be worse than physical because you don’t know if it will end.

It can.  And not with a pregnancy.  But with your peeps.  Your circle is already there at this moment – bonds forged over time and through challenges.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for you find someone you completely trust to share your experiences with.  Someone who can hold a non-judgmental space for you to emote, cry, and talk with.

Your partner probably isn’t the best person since he’s on this fertility journey with you.  You need someone who’s not emotionally invested with you.

You have plenty of resources at your disposal.  It’s whether or not you’re willing to be vulnerable enough to invite someone in to help cushion your way.  The choice is yours.

I’m one of those resources.  If you want to know how I can support you while you’re trying to conceive, check out my coaching program: fertilityeggspurt.com/gps
