Poor egg quality myth debunked!

Yet another email today asking for help from a woman diagnosed with “poor egg quality and quantity due to age”…

This is the most common diagnosis my patients have since I focus on helping women in their late 30s to 40s get pregnant.

What I’m going to tell you is the straight up truth.

Most people don’t know it.

Most doctors don’t even know it.

The secret that hardly anyone knows is that egg quality CAN be improved…

Here’s how it works…

Yes, women are born with all the eggs that we’re going to have.

There’s a huge BUT in there though.

The first part of egg development (called Prophase I) is completed within the first 3 months of pregnancy. While the baby is still in mom.

Then egg development stops completely. They just hang out until puberty – frozen in stasis.

As a newborn baby girl, you had about 2 million immature eggs. Most of those eggs will die or be reabsorbed into your body, leaving about 400,000 at puberty.

At this time, usually between 11-14yo, one egg at a time matures with each period.

Over the course of your lifetime, only 400-500 eggs will be released while you’re menstruating.

That’s 400 eggs out of a pool of 400,000!

What does that mean to you?

A whole lot, guurrrllll!!!

It means that you have the power to influence the development of the eggs!!

Only the strongest of that 400,000 will survive. And the strong are made, not born. With our lifestyle choices.

Everything that you do, eat, think since birth impacts your eggs.

So, buh-bye, “poor egg quality”.

Now you know the power you still have over your eggs, make healthier choices consistently. As your overall health gets better, so will your fertility.

All my best,
