Going naked is best

Sometimes I feel like a party pooper.

When trying to get pregnant, I advise to avoid a lot of things.

  • No alcohol
  • No sugar
  • No dairy
  • No gluten

And the list goes on…

My reasons may be valid but they’re definitely an adjustment.

Here’s another no-no.

Nail polish

According to a study published last week,  toxic elements tested positive in the 40 nail polish brands sampled.

Some of the toxins include triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), pthalates, didiethylhexyl phthalate(DEHP) among others. These others were chemicals banned by the EU in the 2000s such as formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate (DnBP).

These chemicals have been linked to infertility, cancer, obesity among other issues because of their effect on disrupting hormonal balance.

The solution is to go naked – your fingernails, that is.  Especially during the pre-conception stage as you’re trying to get pregnant.

Yes, I know.  That was painful to read.

At the very least, opt for more natural nail polishes and polish removers available at health food stores.

And, if you’re going to a nail salon every 2 weeks, learn how to do your own nails at home.  Those chemical fumes that you’re inhaling as you sit there for up to an hour is toxic.  How can you not smell that?!?

Get together with your girlfriends and do each other’s nails.  That sounds like a fun way to hang out with your gal pals.

One of my clients showed me nail polish that comes as a sticker that you fit on your nails.  It looked great!  And that’s waaay better.

Ok, that’s it for now.  I’m gonna hop onto Amazon and see if I can find those stickers and take them out for a test drive.  The things I do for you ladies. :p

In the meantime, if you missed my webinar on how to use IVF more successfully even if you’re in your 40s or diagnosed with premature ovarian failure, check it out on my FB page (@juliechangfertility).  It’ll stay up until the end of the week.

All my best,
